Case study · Studio Schicketanz
A strong design portfolio. Online and up to date.
Stabilized hosting and a refreshed portfolio for a Carmel architecture and interior design firm, with an easy workflow for new projects.
The challenge
What needed to change.
Studio Schicketanz already had a strong website design, but the Amazon S3-based hosting setup was too complex for the local team to manage. Recurring downtime interrupted access to the portfolio, while new projects, team members and press coverage were falling behind.
Our approach
Built around
the real need.
The job was to protect a good design and make it reliable, current and easier to maintain, not replace it.
Stable hosting first.
We diagnosed and resolved the hosting and server problems behind the downtime, taking the infrastructure burden off the studio’s team.
A portfolio that reflects the firm today.
New projects, photography, team information, refreshed copy and recent press brought the site current. Project presentation was reorganized so the firm’s recent work could lead.
A workable update process.
We worked with the staff on a simple way to send information about new projects, letting their design work and online portfolio move forward together.
Respect the original design.
Another regional studio designed and built the original website. PlayBig’s role is hosting, updates and support, working comfortably alongside the client’s team and other providers.
